We can now add four more awards to the list, after success at recent festivals in the UK, Spain and Denmark! This Mountain Life was lucky to be one of twelve films given an award at Kendal Mountain Festival. Our director Grant Baldwin was at the UK festival, and received the award for Best Visuals in person. If you haven't been, Kendal Mountain is one of the premiere festivals across the pond. Held in the beautiful Lake District, it's considered the main social event for outdoor enthusiasts in the UK. Over 240 films are submitted every year, 100 of which are screened at the festival. We feel honoured to have Grant’s stunning cinematography recognized.

Next stop for Grant was near the foothills of the Pyrenees. The Mountain Film Festival of Torelló kindly awarded This Mountain Life with not one, but two awards for Best Mountain Film AND Best Photography. This festival went above and beyond to make Grant feel welcome! Their poor driver even drove him the hour to Barcelona at 3am to catch his flight home. The 36th Edition of this festival was more popular than ever with a record number of festival goers - a total of 7,200 people attending screenings over 10 days. The F.E.E.C. (Federació d´ Entitats Excursionistes de Catalunya/Federation of Hiking Organisation of Catalonia) was keen to highlight that mountain cinema as a genre is gaining ground every year.

And finally, the oldest adventure film festival in Scandinavia, the Nordic Adventure Film Festival, awarded This Mountain Life, the Best Mountain Culture Film. As well as supporting adventure filmmakers, the festival has the goal of inspiring people in general and motivating people to film their journeys into the outdoors. It was a perfect fit for our film.

Each festival has it's own vibe and style of programming. Attending is such a great way to get to know different parts of the world, and we're grateful for the opportunity to connect directly with audiences and other filmmakers.
